| Fährschiffe
unterscheiden sich von Kreuzfahrtschiffen in erster Linie dadurch, dass
hier der Transport über ein bestimmtes Gewässer im Vordergrund steht und
nicht etwa der Luxus oder die Belustigung der Passagiere. Man
unterscheidet heutzutage noch zwei Arten von Fährschiffen:
Passagierfährschiffe, die Passagiere und ihre Fahrzeuge transportieren
und RoRo-Fährschiffe, die einen geringen Anteil an Passagiertransport
aufweisen und vorwiegend rollende Fracht wie etwa LKW's und ihre Auflieger
(Trailer) transportieren. Ferries differ from Cruise Ships primarily by the fact, that the main aspect is the transport of freight/passengers from A to B across a specific water and not the amusement of the passengers (which is the main focus on a cruise ship!). There are two different types of ferries: Passenger Ferries which transport passengers and their vehicles and RoRo-Cargo which have a small share of passengers and transport mainly rolling freight such as trailers or other cargos. |
